How to play Twister
In Twister, players follow instructions from a spinner that tells them which body part to place on which colored circle. As the game continues, players become tangled together while trying to avoid falling.
If a player loses balance or touches the mat with anything other than their hands or feet, they are eliminated.

| Playtime | 10–20 minutes |

Setup
Before starting the game, follow these steps:
- Lay the Twister mat flat on the floor
- Make sure all players can reach the mat easily
- One person becomes the spinner and does not play
- Players stand on opposite sides of the mat
Once everyone is ready, the spinner spins the wheel to begin the game.
Gameplay
Each round starts with the spinner spinning the wheel.
The spinner will call out a combination such as:
- Right hand red
- Left foot blue
- Right foot yellow
- Left hand green
Players must place the specified body part on a free circle of that color.
Important rules
| Rule | Explanation |
|---|---|
| One body part per circle | A circle can only hold one hand or foot |
| Follow the spinner | Players must move when the spinner calls |
| No elbows or knees | Only hands and feet may touch the mat |
| Keep balance | Falling means elimination |
Players often end up crossing over each other, making it harder to stay balanced.
Eliminations
A player is eliminated if:
- They fall over
- Their knee or elbow touches the mat
- They cannot complete the required move
The remaining players continue playing until only one player remains.
Winning the game
The last player remaining on the mat without falling wins the game.
Twister is usually played for fun, so many groups simply restart a new round after someone wins.
