Riftbound reveals Radiance mechanics ahead of October release

Riot has detailed three new mechanics for Riftbound: Radiance, giving players a clearer picture of how its next physical card-game set will play. The overview, published on 25 September, confirms a 23 October 2026 release in English, French and Chinese, with Pre-Rift events running from 16–22 October.

What changes at the table
Riot’s Radiance overview introduces Deploy, Show Off and Disarm.
Deploy puts Gear directly onto a Battlefield, where it provides benefits until an opponent holds that location and the Gear is destroyed. Show Off asks players to reveal a qualifying card from their hand or board to unlock an additional effect. Disarm weakens an enemy Unit’s Might when attacking, with multiple instances increasing the reduction.
Orianna also brings a twist: her Legend effect can turn Equipment into Units. When that happens, the Equipment becomes unequipped automatically.
These additions give players new reasons to consider where they commit cards and which information they reveal. Full Seraphine and Evelynn decklists are still due on 16 October, so this is an initial look at the set rather than a complete assessment of its strategies.
Two ways to buy into the set
The separate Radiance product FAQ, also dated 25 September, lists a Booster Display containing 24 packs of 14 cards. Riot lists the display at $119.99 or €127.99, plus shipping and handling.
For players who want prepared decks, the Evelynn vs. Seraphine Showdown product contains two 56-card decks, two paper playmats and a rulebook. Its listed price is $34.99 or €36.99, again before shipping and handling.
The practical choice is between opening booster packs and starting with decks already assembled. Neither price should be read as a promise of stock at every retailer.
Riot’s store drawing closes tomorrow
Riot’s earlier merch-store notice applies to players in North America and Europe. Registration runs until 30 September at 9am Pacific, equivalent to 18:00 CEST in Malta. Selection is scheduled to begin around 9am Pacific on 5 October, with order fulfilment beginning on 23 October.
Entering the drawing does not reserve a purchase. Riot’s FAQ says selected entrants receive an emailed buying link and have 24 hours to complete checkout. If they decline or miss that window, another entrant can be selected.
Players using this route should check access to their Riot account and ensure Riot emails reach their inbox. Those planning to attend a Pre-Rift event should check their local store’s own schedule and availability separately.
