Disney Lorcana details Hyperia City’s ink drops ahead of October release
Ravensburger has shared new details of Hyperia City, the next Disney Lorcana trading card game set, in a September 22 update. Alongside the arrival of characters from Disney and Pixar’s Coco, the expansion adds ink drops: a resource that gives players another way to pay for cards and use certain abilities.

When can players get it?
According to Ravensburger’s September 22 announcement, prerelease availability begins on October 16, 2026, at game stores and selected Disney Parks and stores. The wider retail launch follows on October 23. The publisher says online preorders are open; players should check their local retailer for stock and event arrangements.
Hyperia City had already been previewed before this week. The latest update adds practical detail about its central mechanic and reveals more of the cards players will encounter.
How ink drops work
Ravensburger describes ink drops as counters that provide ink for a single use. They can help pay for cards from a player’s hand, while some cards interact with the counters in other ways.
Lorcana Player’s coverage of the September 22 presentation explains that these counters are separate from the cards in a deck. Removing one supplies one ink, and players can combine that payment with ink from their inkwell. For example, a three-ink card could be paid for with two ink from the inkwell and one ink drop.
That creates an extra decision about when to spend a limited resource. How useful it becomes will depend on the cards in a particular deck; the previews alone do not establish which strategies will be strongest.
Coco joins the card lineup
The official Hyperia City product page shows characters including Miguel Rivera and Héctor Rivera, alongside returning Disney favourites. It also highlights a connection between Coco cards and the discard pile: the Land of the Dead location rewards players who have accumulated enough discarded cards.
For players interested in building around a favourite film, those interactions offer something more specific to explore than the artwork alone. The official page links to a card gallery for checking individual cards.
What is available at launch?
Ravensburger lists booster packs, booster display boxes, an Illumineer’s Trove and Prerelease Boxes. The Trove includes eight booster packs and six damage dice.
Lorcana Player reports that the Prerelease Box is intended for participating game-store prerelease events and includes six boosters, a promo card, damage dice and ink-drop counters. Anyone hoping to try the set at an event should check the store’s booking requirements before making plans.
