Frosthaven has left Early Access, bringing the complete digital adaptation of Isaac Childres and Cephalofair Games’ cooperative board game to PC. Version 1.0 arrived on 15 October 2026 through Steam and the Epic Games Store, with the full story campaign and all 17 playable heroes.

For tabletop players who have been waiting for the campaign to be finished before starting online, that is the useful change. Snapshot Games’ launch announcement and patch notes confirm that the final chapter and remaining hero are now included, alongside further work on the multiplayer systems.

At a glance

  • Frosthaven 1.0 launched on PC on 15 October, with the full campaign and 17 heroes.
  • It supports solo play and online co-op for two to four players.
  • Existing Early Access owners receive the full version as an update; they do not need to buy it again.

The campaign reaches its final chapter

The launch closes an Early Access period that began on 31 July 2025. The earlier build contained roughly a third of the planned content, as outlined in Notebookcheck’s launch coverage. Version 1.0 completes that progression rather than beginning a separate sequel.

The update also fills out the Codex, which gathers information about the world, characters and creatures. Outpost buildings receive revised effects, and the patch notes list changes to scenario information, interface screens and hero retraining. These are developer-reported changes; their inclusion is not a claim that every outstanding bug has been resolved.

Familiar card decisions, less physical setup

The Steam listing describes a tactical game built around ability cards, character combinations and resource management. Players choose actions for their mercenaries, tackle encounters and develop their outpost between expeditions. Six starting classes offer different roles, with more classes unlocked during the campaign.

The digital version offers a way to organise those sessions remotely. Solo play is supported alongside online cooperative groups of two to four, while the listed PC requirements include Windows 10 or 11, a 64-bit processor and 50 GB of storage. English interface text, subtitles and audio are supported.

Returning players can keep their progress

In the publisher’s earlier 1.0 FAQ, Snapshot confirmed that Early Access saves would remain compatible and that starting a new campaign was optional. Existing owners upgrade their copy rather than purchasing the game a second time.

New players also have the digital-only Road to Frosthaven introduction and tutorial to help them learn the systems. For groups considering the adaptation, the practical distinction is now straightforward: the campaign is complete, and the next step is checking that the supported platforms and cooperative format fit the people who will be playing.
