Unstable Games has opened crowdfunding for Ordinary Magic, bringing three standalone tabletop games by Marceline Leiman to Gamefound together. The Curious Little Bookshop, Lifted Spirits and Happy Heart Cafe share a magical everyday world, but offer different activities: arranging books, managing hotel guests and running a cooperative café.
The campaign launched on 20 October 2026. The studio and its games had already been revealed; the news now is the live funding offer, with individual Deluxe Edition pledges at US$29 and a three-game bundle at US$79. The publisher’s day-one update confirms the launch and outlines its schedule of component upgrades.
At a glance
- Three standalone games are available individually for US$29 each, or together in a US$79 bundle.
- All three campaign editions are in English; Happy Heart Cafe supports solo play as well as cooperation.
- Shipping is planned near the end of 2027. Shipping charges and applicable taxes are collected later.
Three settings, different ways to play
In The Curious Little Bookshop, players bid for books and arrange a shared staff-picks shelf. Hidden preferences reward particular genres and colours, so a helpful-looking placement can serve a private scoring plan. Influence limits how much each bookseller can spend at auction.
Lifted Spirits takes that competition to a haunted hotel. Bellhops draft guests and influence an elevator’s movement, trying to escort visitors efficiently and collect compliments. Guest characteristics and the timing of stops shape the contest.
Happy Heart Cafe changes the relationship around the table. One to four players work together, moving between five stations to prepare orders, manage resources and keep customers happy. The aim is a five-star rating before bad reviews overwhelm the business. The publisher also confirms a dedicated solo option in its 21 October FAQ update.
What the campaign offer means
The live Gamefound page also lists a US$199 Extraordinary Collector’s Set. The US$79 bundle is the lower-priced route to all three games; buying them separately totals US$87. Backers do not need all three to play any one of them.
The publisher plans ten stretch-goal unlocks on alternating campaign days through 10 November. Its first upgrade replaces chipboard tokens with wooden pieces across the three games. These are campaign component upgrades, rather than a requirement to combine the games into one system.
Unstable Games plans one shipping wave near the end of 2027, with shipping and applicable sales tax collected through the pledge manager after the campaign. That is a production plan, not a guaranteed arrival date. English is confirmed; proposed community translations for Bookshop and Lifted Spirits should not be mistaken for promised localized editions.
For earlier context, GeekDad’s pre-launch roundup covered the three-game lineup before funding opened.
